Double sheet control of stamping parts in the automotive industry
During the handling process of stamped metal parts it happens, that instead of one part two or more parts will be sucked up from a robot.
Double sheet control
Metal plates should be removed from a stack with a robot. The robot sucks the metal sheets one by one and it should be avoided for safety reasons to move two metal sheets simultaneously. A sensor should detect double sheet not from the top but from the side. Furthermore, the system should be adapted automatically after a change of the type of metal sheet (different thickness or different metal).
